What started as an easter-egg in the A Pirate’s Life Tall Tale in Sea of Thieves has now become its own three-part adventure titled The Legend of Monkey Island, as revealed in the recent Xbox Games Showcase. Built in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games these new Tall Tales will have players meeting Guybrush Threepwood, Elaine, the ghost captain LeChuck, Murray the Demonic Talking Skull and more characters from the Monkey Island universe all as free content released monthly staring July 20.
Also detailed in a recent Xbox blog post is that players will get to visit freely explorable versions of both Mêlée Island and Monkey Island, solving puzzles in a point-and-click style adapted for Sea of Thieves first-person view, which just sounds amazing.
